Should I support zarr v2?

I'm writing some functionality into one of my libraries focused on meteorological satellite imagery data and wrapping xarray's to_zarr functionality and zarr-python to write to zarr stores. I'm having Claude do much of the work so handling zarr v2 versus v3 stuff isn't difficult but it is making parts of the code uglier than they would be if I dropped v2 support. What does this community/project suggest? Is v2 still widely used in some places?

i would only support it if your users need it
