Session: 2026-07-26 - OpenAI-Compatible connection

  • Status: in progress
  • Re-read repository, planning, and Avalonia rules.
  • Confirmed LLMTornado already exposes the required custom-URI provider.
  • Confirmed the desktop app lacks a generic selectable provider and ignores endpoint overrides on the official OpenAI route.
  • Preserved the pending connection-test alignment change as part of this iteration.
  • Confirmed Base URL and optional API key belong to each compatible connection rather than the global provider-settings page.
  • Search error: the assumed OpenSourceToolkit.NET/ViewModels/AiAssistantViewModel.cs path does not exist; resolving the exact path before continuing.

  • Confirmed Discard permits the close but leaves the connection editor dirty, causing the second close to prompt again.
  • Reset connection-edit state in the Discard branch and cancel the pending Settings close.
  • Added a focused regression proving Discard keeps Settings open while clearing dirty, editing, and adding state.
  • Normalized the two changed C# files once and verified UTF-8 BOM plus CRLF without Perl.

  • Status: complete
  • Re-read repository, RTK, and applicable Avalonia build/troubleshooting rules.
  • Verified the local LLMTornado fork is clean on feat_openai_codex_subscription_auth at afc32fe476fc10d291d54e626c6cb20cccf47d03.
  • Compared the PR's four changed public Codex implementation files with the prior integration commit.
  • Confirmed service-tier APIs remain source-compatible.
  • Identified the remaining Toolkit hardcode that incorrectly assigns the Codex protocol version to ClientVersion.
  • Removed the Toolkit protocol-version constant and ClientVersion assignment so LLMTornado owns the protocol default.

  • Status: complete
  • Located the provider title in all 12 JSON localization files and the two-line Codex model DataTemplate in Settings XAML.
  • Stopped the assistant-started Release validation process before rebuilding.
  • Renamed the provider-list title in all 12 localizations and validated every JSON file.
  • Reduced the Codex model DataTemplate to one display-name TextBlock and added focused regression coverage.
  • Normalized and byte-verified the changed C#/AXAML files once as UTF-8 with BOM and CRLF without Perl.

  • Confirmed secure OAuth credentials persist separately from the active access mode.
  • Confirmed AiAccessManager is hardcoded to OpenAiApi at construction and SettingsData has no access-mode property.
  • Identified the blank Fast selection as reentrant clearing/repopulation of OpenAiSubscriptionServiceTiers from the synchronous StateChanged handler.
  • Perl remains completely excluded from all source and normalization work.

  • Status: complete
  • Re-read repository, RTK, planning, and Avalonia guidance.
  • Recorded the requested Connect variant/disabled state and the request for model-dependent effort and speed controls.
  • Added the user's correction that the configured AI connection selector must be restored in the Assistant while authentication controls stay absent.
  • Implemented the Assistant visibility correction: the configured connection selector is no longer hidden by subscription mode.
  • Implemented model-dependent reasoning-effort selection and turn propagation.
  • Added LLMTornado service-tier catalog/turn support for app-server and OAuth sessions, then exposed Standard/Fast selection in Settings when the selected model advertises a tier.

  • Identified the manager's non-atomic account/model refresh as the reason the UI simultaneously reports authenticated state and login failure.
  • The user confirmed that the populated list before the previous UI correction came from the earlier flow; current inspection distinguishes the app-server catalog from direct browser OAuth.
  • Confirmed that direct OAuth sent LLMTornado package version 3.8.64 as Codex client_version, while the current local Codex catalog cache was fetched with protocol version 0.146.0.
  • Configured direct OAuth with Codex protocol version 0.146.0, made same-mode Connect reload the catalog, kept Connect available as an explicit retry, and corrected post-login catalog failures so they are not labeled as failed authentication.

Session: 2026-07-25 - OAuth completion status update

  • Status: in progress
  • Recorded the post-login screenshot and reopened the OAuth flow from browser completion through LLMTornado, the shared access manager, and Settings state projection.
  • Re-read repository, RTK, planning, and Avalonia guidance before diagnosis.
  • Expanded the correction scope after the user clarified that no authentication or subscription-model controls belong in the AI Assistant UI.
  • Traced the LLMTornado direct-OAuth local callback listener and the app adapter. The Assistant's connected-account text confirms that callback completion and shared-state propagation succeeded.
  • Reclassified the reported unchanged Settings card as a state-presentation defect plus duplicated Assistant authentication UI.

  • Status: complete
  • Follow-up correction reopened: the user screenshot showed that subscription authentication was only available in the AI Assistant and absent from the OpenAI provider settings page.
  • Re-read repository rules, RTK guidance, the original request, both selected skill entrypoints, planning state, and relevant memory context.
  • Inspected the screenshot and established the required correction: surface the existing app-scoped subscription implementation directly on the OpenAI provider page while preserving the API-key controls.
  • Read the relevant Avalonia binding, command, TopLevel launcher, UI-thread, accessibility, automation, testing, and troubleshooting guidance.
  • Traced the complete provider-detail XAML, Settings constructor/callback ownership, provider selection state, command construction, API testing/model management, and current focused Settings tests.

  • Status: complete
  • Preserved arbitrary model IDs through the existing two-way string binding.
  • Added a provider-backed dropdown, explicit open action, and case-insensitive incremental filtering.
  • Limited suggestions to at most 20 visible rows while retaining text/image badges and keyboard behavior.
  • Added a computed missing-name state and a Flowery error border for the required connection name.
  • Added focused regression coverage for free text, filtering, popup sizing, category badges, and the required-name state.
  • The first build found an Avalonia 12 event-argument mismatch; corrected the handler to RoutedEventArgs.

Session: 2026-07-25 - DaisyButton throughout Settings

  • Status: complete
  • Inspected DaisyButton and DaisyButton.axaml from the configured local Flowery source, then verified compatibility against the actually referenced NuGet package through the XAML compiler.
  • Converted the four Settings navigation actions to DaisyButton while preserving ListBox selection, accessibility IDs, and layout.
  • Replaced the three code-created unsaved-change dialog buttons with DaisyButton.
  • Made every Settings XAML DaisyButton variant explicit and verified no Ghost or standard Button remains.
  • The first build rejected the newer local-source-only IconData property because the app references Flowery.NET 2.2.0; reverted to the package-supported PathIcon content model.
  • The second build reached the test project and found that its MSTest version lacks StringAssert.DoesNotContain; replaced it with an ordinal string.Contains assertion.
  • The first normalization was performed before this API mismatch surfaced; the two subsequently corrected XAML/test files require a final repeat normalization.

  • Inspected the rendered XAML declaration, routed click handler, MainWindow dialog route, and Settings initial-selection logic.
  • Confirmed the current entry uses a custom DaisyButton while the adjacent toolbar actions use native Avalonia controls.
  • Selected a native button plus explicit interaction properties and deterministic ListBox selection as the focused correction.
  • A first Flowery source lookup used an unverified local flowery path and failed; the actual NuGet package root was then derived from project.assets.json as required.
  • Replaced the custom DaisyButton with a native Button and explicitly set IsEnabled, IsHitTestVisible, and Focusable to true.
  • Changed the click handler to resolve MainWindow from the clicked control.

  • Located the exact toolbar position between AI Gen and Sessions.
  • Confirmed the existing Settings dialog route and the named AI Connections navigation item.
  • Selected an icon-only SettingsIcon button with localized tooltip/accessibility metadata and no availability binding.
  • Added an explicit Settings start section while retaining General as the default for all existing callers.
  • Added the new toolbar click path to AI Connections and localized its accessible label across all 12 locales.
  • Added focused XAML/source regression coverage.
  • Normalized the six changed C#/XAML files once to UTF-8 BOM and CRLF.

  • Traced the failure chain from non-atomic direct writes through catch-all default creation to the immediate startup locale save.
  • Added atomic settings writes, cross-process serialization, stale-file hash checks, three timestamped backup slots, corrupt/conflict preservation, and automatic backup recovery.
  • Separated AI manager synchronization errors from settings deserialization so a provider error cannot discard loaded settings.
  • Added three focused persistence tests for rotation, invalid-file recovery, and stale-writer rejection.
  • Added six further edge-case tests for invalid newest backups, no-backup recovery, orphaned temporary files, concurrent instances, abandoned mutex ownership, and the exact recovery-followed-by-locale-save regression.

Session: 2026-07-22 - Final AI chat layout correction

  • Status: complete
  • Added an internal content-width converter so Flowery measures wrapped content within the visible bubble width.
  • Halved user-bubble padding to 8 px and adjusted its content-width subtraction to 16 px.
  • Moved user timestamps outside Flowery's clipped end-footer layout.
  • Unified Copy/Delete backgrounds as Ghost buttons and colored only the Delete glyph with DaisyErrorBrush.
  • Repeated real-app CUA validation until text, actions, timestamps, padding, and colors were all visibly correct.
  • Final build completed with 0 warnings/errors; all 189 tests passed.

Session: 2026-07-22 - AI chat internal bubble width correction

Phase 1: Correct diagnosis

  • Status: complete

    • Compared the new screenshot with the implemented responsive binding.
    • Confirmed the outer DaisyChatBubble is narrower, but the Flowery control template's internal PART_Bubble still renders at its own width and is clipped at the right panel edge.
    • Expanded verification to include a real-app visual check through CUA after implementation.

Phase 2: Implement

    • Added a view-local global descendant style targeting DaisyChatBubble /template/ Border#PART_Bubble.
    • Bound the internal border's MaxWidth to the ScrollViewer's Flowery responsive width.
