With rails_xss getting more popular and ruby3 on its way it gets more important to support unescaped strings.
HAML has the != or ! helper for this http://haml-lang.com/docs/yardoc/file.HAML_REFERENCE.html#unescaping_html
Unfortunatelly adding the != or replacing the = with a ! breaks the highlighting for the following code.
The same goes for = and &= or their shortcut &.
