Cannot disable update / revert to older version

Im trying to start SMM, but recently it does not start because glibc 2.38 is required. Im on debian 12 stable and only have glibc 2.36. So I downloaded SMM version 3.0.3, which does run, but instantly updates to latest version (3.0.5) which does not. How do I disable this autoupdate on firest startup? btw: im using the .appimage
