Feature request: option to only show first n files

We have a couple of very large commits that take ages to load and sometimes even crash the browser tab.

Would you be open to a merge request that does one of the following:

• add a config option to only show the first n files followed by a message saying that m file diffs are not shown
• add a config option to only show the file list

i would really need a loading spinner (if that doesn't already exist). How about some sort of paging?
