Doesn't work at all on Android tablet

I use CodeMirror mostly through Obsidian. It works amazingly well on all my devices, including iOS devices.
But when using it on an Android phone or tablet, the basics of Vim keybindings aren't working.

For example, when using hjkl to move in normal mode, characters appear in the text while moving.
Escaping sometimes doesn't work and I get stuck in insert mode.

It seems that the detection of keys is just flaky and messes with the default text insertion.

I have issues with the native touch keyboard and with external bluetooth keyboards.
I have these issues both in Obsidian (which embeds CodeMirror) and on the website of CodeMirror that demos Vim keybindings.

I'm having the exact same issues on Replit and Codewars vim modes, both embedding Codemirror.

I just noticed the same issue with navigation key events being randomly inserted into the text when holding the keys while in normal mode when trying the Android version of Obsidian 1.12.7 on a Chromebook (which is back at Android 13, I guess).

Not sure if it's related, but I also noticed that navigation keys don't autorepeat sometimes if I hold one too soon after releasing another key.
