Stuck in Importing

Hi, I was trying to make JUnit work so I made co-pilot do a few things but I couldn't follow it as it had done a lot of things. Now neither my program nor VS Code works (at least while trying to run my program).

Stuck in "activating task providers java"

Java: Clean Java Language Server Workspace does not work (command not found)

When I click "run Java", this thing on bottom right appears but nothing happens (waited 3+ minutes, my program used to run in less than 5 seconds after pressing run)

Nothing of significance in "Problems"

This guy at the bottom is probably related to the main cause of the issue but disabling it and restarting VSCode etc does not change anything. The same issues still persist. (Command not found, activating task providers java, run importing projects etc all the same). I disabled it for now.

Not sure if relevant, but Java: Configure Java Runtime leads here although I am in a file as you can see on the left (but I'm not sure what this is so this information is probably irrelevant and makes me look stupid as it is also incorrect lol)

I have been trying to find a solution both with internet searches and AI suggestions for a few hours now but couldn't find a solution. Please help! I wish I just did not try to "force" the optional part of my homework; I was done with it and now it doesn't work and I need to show it to my prof in a few hours :D

Thank you for the advice; I will do that. But in a seperate program (I manually copied all the code from desktop pc to laptop and sent the zip back to my desktop pc, so Oracle's Java extension doesn't run in this new "simplified" program), it still doesn't run and still gives the "command not found" error.

Unless of course there are different conflicts here

This same code/program works on my slow laptop by the way! So I think the problem is in VSCode itself (not on the devs' side, but maybe I have made some bad changes?)

your 1st Extension Host log shows a missing config.ini file, which is unexpected, looks like a corrupt installation. Can you try installing the vscode-java pre-release instead? Please provide logs if it still fails

I'm sorry I do not exactly understand. Do you mean VSCode itself, or one of the installed extensions or one of the running extensions? (running extensions are the ones on the right side, installed on left):

Thank you, this worked. The program runs now. What do you think is the issue? Should I uninstall "Language Support for Java(TM) by Red Hat" and reinstall again, would that fix it and allow me to use it in release version? Also, if you need any other screenshots, let me know

Close vscode, then delete the java extensions in

• C:\Users\[YourName]\.vscode\extensions
• C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Code\CachedExtensions\

Then you can try reinstalling the 1.51.0 release
