Problem statement

Currently, there is ambiguity regarding where Red Hat Brand icon documentation should reside and how PatternFly developers should interact with these assets. To ensure a cohesive developer experience and brand consistency, we need to identify the "source of truth" and define the integration path for PatternFly-based applications.

Goals

Identify the Source of Truth: Determine if brand icon documentation belongs on PatternFly.org, the Red Hat Design System (RHDS) site, or internal Brand pages.

Establish documentation strategy:

• If hosted elsewhere: Determine how to effectively link and cross-reference these docs.

• If hosted on PatternFly: Define the scope of content needed.

• Developer Guidance: Outline specific instructions for developers on how to import, reference, and use these icons within their UIs.

Proposed task list

• Stakeholder alignment: Consult with the Brand and RHDS teams to confirm which site serves as the primary authority.

• Gap Analysis: Identify what information is missing for developers (e.g., package names, React components, CSS classes).

• Update the icon documentation on patternfly.org by updating the website content and/or linking to the single source of truth for the new brand icons. Note that the "All icons" table (currently being manually maintained) will probably need to be updated or removed.

Currently the new brand icons are being housed on various "temporary" sites, none of which properly lay out the new icons or explain their use cases:
