Bug - Sidebar should auto-close on item selection below 1200px viewport width

Describe the problem
This is an issue with

• Patternfly 5

• Patternfly 6

• other

The Sidebar remains open after selecting a navigation item when the viewport width is below the desktop breakpoint (~1200px). This causes the main content to remain partially obscured and requires an additional manual action to close the sidebar.

Affected components:

• Page layout / Sidebar navigation

How do you reproduce the problem?

1. Resize the browser viewport to below the xl breakpoint (~1200px).
2. Open the sidebar if not already expanded.
3. Click any navigation item in the sidebar.
4. Observe that the sidebar remains open.

Expected behavior

When the viewport width is below the desktop breakpoint, selecting a navigation item should automatically close the sidebar to reveal the main content area.

Not blocking, but creates usability friction on smaller screens.

Workaround:
Manually close the sidebar after selecting a navigation item.

• Are you having this issue in your use of our Page/Navigiation/Sidebar/etc components?
• Is this specifically about the sidebar navigation on the PatternFly site not closing when clicking a a nav item?

@thatblindgeye This issue is on the PatternFly site itself. Here, "sidebar" refers to the sidebar of the PatternFly site, not the sidebar component of PatternFly.

• I have not checked this issue for any example or demo.
• I have not tested this issue for the sidebar component or any other PatternFly component.
• This is specifically about the sidebar navigation on the PatternFly site not closing when clicking a nav item.

Gotcha, since it's more just the PatternFly site, I'm going to transfer this to our patternfly-org repo - sounds like maybe something we're doing with our components to build out the site may not be setup correctly.
