Upgrade to openresty 1.29 and OpenSSL 3.5

Sure thing. I’ll keep an eye out for both the GitHub tag (for build from source) and their binaries (for upstream).
I saw activity in the upstream repo but I don’t think it is released yet?

We have the latest OpenSSL, but still waiting for upstream to release OpenResty 1.29.

Although I had checked a few times earlier, I see now that 1.29.2.1 source has been released upstream. I'm now exploring building and releasing build-from-source images.

Unfortunately with the new GitHub Actions, branch images didn't build. But I've just pushed it to neomantra/master.

There should be openresty-testing packages tonight after this CI/CD and then tag-based runs.

I successfully did a local test build last night, using your Alpine Dockerfile from master branch and changed versions to:

RESTY_IMAGE_TAG="3.23.3",RESTY_VERSION="1.29.2.1" and RESTY_PCRE_VERSION="10.47"

OPENSSL Version already had target version 3.5.5 so this was left and I had to switch to SHA512 sum for PCRE.
Nothing more. (building the image was stable, but running it was not tested yet)
Do you plan to upgrade RESTY_PCRE_VERSION="10.47" too?

Thanks for pointing out there's a new PCRE version. I'll add that. I was in the midst of upgrading LuaRocks too.

Is there any plan to release a bookworm-based image like we had for the 1.27 release ?

Use case: openresty-resty and openresty-opm packages are available on bookworm but I can't seem to find them on alpine, jammy or noble

@bastienlc You are welcome :) The bookworm and other flavors are all built by OpenResty upstream and they have not released packages. Once they do, I will make another release that includes them.

Regarding resty and opm, you can already find them in the build-from source images!

If you are using bookworm, the Ubuntu images will be the most similar:

If this can help anyone, since these binaries are not managed by apt you might need to skip installing those dependencies, e.g. in my case (with crowdsec-openresty-bouncer):

apt-get update && \
apt-get download crowdsec-openresty-bouncer=1.1.1 && \
dpkg --force-depends -i crowdsec-openresty-bouncer*.deb
