Overall Roadmap

Going to come back and revise this later, but a lot of broad things need to be planned more concretely so that they can be broken down into actual tasks/issues. I have some of these planned in my head/out loud to others already but not written down as of yet.

• revise configuration files, they're fairly barebones at the moment
• determine a list of included plugins/if any additional work is needed for some plugins to function correctly
• create a repo for kubernetes objects associated with wordpress sites
  • potentially auto-generated sourced from LDAP?
  • users should have a self-service option for creating a site (one per user)
  • design the structure of pods, ingress, etc that we want to use
• properly handle mariadb/wp-config.php secrets (likely with auto-generated values in a kubernetes Secret)
• handle virtual host custom domains for RSOs
• .. more to be added/expanded upon

slightly longer-term:

• management tools for ocfstaff to easily view logs/disable sites
• web console/cli tool for students to manage their site?
• ideally use OIDC for authentication to access /wp-admin
• some kind of observability/monitoring?
