Bug description
On opening image files (eg. JPG) or video files (eg. MP4) in their respective viewers (eg. Nomacs & VLC), then closing them via Esc or the X control, focus is not returned to Nemo. Hence, the most recently opened file cannot be renamed or deleted conveniently without selecting Nemo or hitting Alt-Tab.
Steps to reproduce
Open Nemo and navigate to a folder containing image (picture) files.
Double-click on an image file to open it in the default viewer.
Close the viewer.
NO program has the focus (except perhaps the desktop).
Hit Alt-Tab to return focus to the last opened file in Nemo.
Expected behavior
On opening a text file, PDF or other document format and closing it again, Nemo regains the focus and the last opened file is highlighted. The same should apply to images and videos.
Additional information
The same result is achieved whether using Nomacs, GIMP, Ocular or IrfanView (via wine) as the image viewer.
I am using the Mate desktop, so Nemo was installed via the Synaptic package manager and made the default file manager. Caja remains installed, but unused for anything other than the default desktop (AFAIK).
