[Feature Request] Integrate repository list with left repository bar with moveable divider between

My workflow requires to open different repositories multiple time per day, thus repository list is very frequent visited place and it would be very helpful to have quick accessible repository list.
Also most of my repos (99%) have only one branch, one remote, few tags so repository left/functions bar is almost empty.
My idea is to integrate repository tree (simple tree from left bar of Repository Manager) with this empty repository functions bar.
Divider should be between both panes to enlarge or shrink height of panes.
When content is about to overflow pane, it should show scrollbar.
New functionality could be enabled/disabled in preferences.

Thanks Dan, but my request is about always displaying list of all available repositories to open, not problem of displaying tabbar of opened ones (similar to problem of Chrome tab size squeezing).

My request is not about vertical tabs, it is about always accessible full repository list - like bookmarks list.
It may be similar in some way, but not the same.
