[Feature Request] Move Through Commits While Details Are Visible

Hi, thanks for adding the space-bar shortcut to open the commit details in 2.67.0. Would it be possible for a future release to add cursor up/down to move between commits (without the details window disappearing)? This would make the "show details" feature behave similar to macOS's Quick View in Finder.

Yes, but how? The keyboard focus is within the file list.

Do you mean the file list in the commit details? I don't have keyboard focus in that: When the detail window is opened, I don't see any keyboard response apart from hitting space again to close the commit default view. See the attached video.

If you select the Changes tab, the focus will in the file list.

Thanks for the quick response. I see different behaviour: Upon opening the details, I need to hit Tab three times to highlight the "Changes" tab. But then I don't have a way of activating it: hitting enter does nothing, hitting space closes the details view. But even if I use the mouse to activate the Changes tab, the file list isn't in focus until I hit Tab eight times. I made another quick video. I don't know if it's helpful, as it doesn't show key strokes. Imagine that I'm hitting Tab multiple times while recording. :-)

OK, may be the focus behavior needs some improvements, but still, the up/down keys are taken.

The Cmd+Up/Down are also taken by the next/previous hunk keyboard shortcuts.
