Describe the bug
I have Darktable 5.4.1 on Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS which has been working well for several weeks. Today I have tried to import some new images using my normal method but it crashes without creating the appropriate import directory. I tried using a new workspace and a memory workspace and the same thing happens.
Steps to reproduce
- Start darktable
- import- copy & import
- select SD card as source
- Doesn't matter if you select a job name or not - typically I do.
- base filmroll directory is /media/steve/T7 Primary/photo
- filmroll name is $(EXIF.YEAR)/$(EXIF.MONTH)/$(EXIF.YEAR)-$(EXIF.MONTH)-$(EXIF.DAY) $(JOBCODE)
- Importing only new files (650 already imported)
- Keep original filename
- click copy and import
- Darktable crashes and closes
- Directory is not created
- On reload former Import job name has returned ( parameter not saved)
Expected behavior
Create directory and import images
