Thanks for your work to provide NetworkManager integration for SSH VPN.
Have you considered making the VPN work more like sshuttle (https://github.com/sshuttle/sshuttle) ? Getting sshuttle working seems a bit simpler since you just have to specify a CIDR block to forward over the tunnel and you have options for enabling or disabling DNS.
