can't install with VS 18

• visual code 18 Professionals Trial , same result with visual code 18 Insiders and Community

@dfranc333 Thank you for sharing the issue. After looking into the debug log, it looks like an issue from Node.js, could you please share which is your current Node.js and NPM version. Maybe you will need to reinstall your Node.js to fix the issue https://nodejs.org/en/download.

I've put the installation on hold for other reasons for the time being and haven't tested your suggestion.
