Escape problem clarification

Can someone please explain Escape problem?

I think the problem is vaguely defined here without giving clear cut example.

Looking at the explanation of the example, if the captain wants to reach the right side, he can go to right side without removing any posts. How come posts can be hindrance here?
OR
If he needs to carry both the line segments with him (3,6)(8,2) and (4,2)(8,2) (assuming his both hands are tied to both of these line segments), then only Post2 removal can solve the problem. I did not understand how Post1 removal can solve the problem.

@pallavijog13 I have not attempted this problem. Seems like a graph (2D plotting) problem. AFAIK, Keyur Shroff worked on this.
