Not showing Xcode version which actually is installed

Describe the bug

I have both Xcode 26.5 and Xcode 27 beta installed. Xcodes shows 27 beta as not installed, when the categories are collapsed.

To Reproduce

1. Install Xcode 26.5 and Xcode 27 beta.
2. Look at the list of Xcodes, with everything collapsed.
3. See that Xcode 27 icon is not colored, but 26 is.

Expected behavior

I would expect both Xcode 27 and Xcode 26 icons to be colored in, since I have both installed.

Hey @jaanus this is based on the last stable release and not any betas or RC's. I agree it looks incorrect. and I'm wondering besides colouring it full, what else I could do in order to show that?

I'm open to ideas. If you don't like the grouping, you could always turn it off in settings

Ok. If I understand you correctly, colored group root icon currently means "some stable version from this group is installed". That sort of makes sense, but is unintuitive, which triggered me to file this bug.

I did not realize grouping is a toggleable option. I tried turning it off, and the flat list is a fine fallback, but I sort of like the groups.

So let me put on my UX hat and analyze this a bit, and read out the UI as I see it. Here is what I see right now.

I would expect the colored group icon simply mean “something from this group is installed”. Maybe it should have three states - "nothing installed", "a stable from this group installed", "a beta from this group installed". Note how in the expanded view the detailed row for 27.0 Beta already has an icon with the "beta" badge. Maybe the toplevel group icon could just be the same in this case.

What if there are several Xcodes from a group installed - both stable and beta - which one should take precedence for the group icon? Just the latest one would make sense to me. Or the active version one, if there is an active version in this group.
