High RAM usage makes ChatGPT extremely slow

ChatGPT becomes extremely slow after using it for a while, and the browser tab starts consuming a very large amount of RAM sometimes several gigabytes.

This causes typing delays, slow scrolling, freezing, and poor overall performance.

Is there a workaround or planned fix for this memory usage issue?

For now workaround is to start devspace by disabling the widgets DEVSPACE_WIDGETS=off
