Rust implementation slower than JVM implementation

We decided to try out the new Rust implementation but were surprised to see that it appears to be twice as slow as the JVM implementation when we use it. Unfortunately I can't share anything to help you reproduce my exact results. But running with just a single thread seems to take just slightly longer than with JVM and the more threads we allow the slower it gets.

We used release 46.1.0.
