Reasoning level resets from max to high after initial prompt on cloud tasks

Problem

When starting an Opus 4.7 chat with the reasoning level set to max, the level resets to high after the initial prompt is sent. It is also unclear whether the initial prompt itself runs at max or high.

I think this may only happen on cloud sessions.

Expected behavior

The reasoning level chosen for the initial prompt should persist for the rest of the session.
