Describe the bug
So I just updated Open-Shell the other day with no problems, however as of today, May 19, 2026, Smart App Control is now completely blocking Open-Shell from running because it cannot verify it's authenticity. The only way I can use Open-Shell now is if I disable Smart App Control entirely. Please help.
Area of issue
Installation/Other
To reproduce
- Boot up Windows 11 PC.
- Log on.
Expected behavior
I expected Open-Shell to run as normal, but Microslop had other plans.
Open-Shell version
4.4.198
Windows version
Windows 11 Home 25H2
Additional context
I want to make it very clear that I really appreciate what you guys do. And I understand if this is the result of a simple oversight. Accidents happen...especially when coding. My hope is that it isn't Microslop trying to control how we are able to customize Windows...though that wouldn't suprise me in the slightest...either way, I hope my bug report helps fix the issue. Thanks again for maintaining this awesome program, so that I can make my computer look like Windows 7 again!
