We will soon depend on this package for music box and need a newer version of wrf-python available on PyPI. We also distribute musica to PyPI with scikit-build-core and build our wheels with cibuildwheel. See our wheel-building CI file. If you have any questions, I may be able to help answer them

@K20shores, thanks so much for the offer! Unfortunately, work on this project has been quite difficult to prioritize so that's the bigger issue at the moment. I'll see what I can do though.

I should also mention that while we are still trying continue some level of maintenance on wrf-python, it's pretty far from ideal at this point. Depending upon what you're looking for in terms of functionality there may be some better maintained options out there.

@kafitzgerald fair enough. It turns out we only need a single function (interplevel) which we may be able to replace with metpy's interpolate_to_isosurface.

There are number of interpolation functions in geocat-comp as well if that might be of interest.
