From 39d61a9a61348cf97ad70cf4427f8c7905bbf3c8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: lachlangrose Date: Mon, 28 Sep 2026 22:42:28 +0930 Subject: [PATCH] fix(ci): drop the cibuildwheel yum step that broke the 1.0.0 release MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The v1.0.0 wheel build failed on ubuntu with Failed to download metadata for repo 'baseos': ... all mirrors were already tried without success Command ['sh', '-c', 'yum install python3-devel -y'] failed with code 1 which is the `before-all` in [tool.cibuildwheel.linux], not anything in the package. The step is unnecessary: the manylinux image already carries CGAL 6.0.1 and Eigen, and cibuildwheel builds against its own /opt/python interpreters, which ship Python.h. `python3-devel` on AlmaLinux 8 resolves to python36-devel — headers for a Python no wheel is built against. It was also the only step in the linux build that touched the network, so a transient mirror outage was enough to fail a release. Verified by building a cp312 wheel in lachlangrose/manylinuxeigencgal with the step removed: exits 0 and produces loop_cgal-*-cp312-cp312-linux_x86_64.whl.
