[Question]: How does the Protect (Pro) function work?

I've been using the app on phone/laptop since last night and it is fantastic so far - having tried many Privacy-focussed Note apps and never quite feeling like I have "the one", PrivacyNotes feels like that could be it.

Before i buy Pro (I know there is a 30 day no quibble refund) but wanted to query the Protect feature as I have a lot of individually protected notes at present:

The description below the option to Protect says:
"Hide the title and contents behind your PIN or biometric."

If I have many notes individually protected, how will I know what each one is if the Title is hidden?

I recommend setting 'Re-ask for PIN after' to 1 min to see that feature quickly in action.

Your question made us realize that we need to communicate better that users can test the full functionality before purchase in the demo. Thanks for that!

Hi - thank you for your reply.

I have tried this out on the demo web interface and this looks positive - although the expected result doesn't match the advertised result in two ways:

1. The "Protect" description says protecting will "hide the title" - when I Protect the chosen note, I can still see the title (which I think is a good thing), so maybe the description needs amended?
2. Again on the description it says it will hide the title/contents "behind your biometric" - when I lock the note and let the required time period elapse (1 minute), despite setting up both PIN and biometric lock, I only get the option to unlock the note with a PIN, not biometric.

This is when testing on Windows 11 - I know fingerprint biometrics work on W11 as I can use them to log-in to the provisioned app.

Is this due to using the demo, or possibly a bug?

Thanks for your detailed bug reports.

1. The feature description was indeed stale, in several places. Those are corrected, and the fix will ship tomorrow.

2. Both fixes land in the next release.

On biometrics, I opened a case earlier re my S25 not utilising the fingerprint reader - is this a bug?
