hey, sorry for necroing the repo, but the AYRIA client is down and unfortunately I can't manage to build it with any version of VS that I try, and I'd like to play this with a friend.

idk if there's any chance but, do you still have something related to this project that could help me get it working?

I wrote a guide for the steps I took that might be of some use to you or someone else finding this project: The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot Offline Build Instructions. I would encourage anyone still interested in this game to join the Discord, since there is modding discussion for other games using the same engine and even talks about a new self hosted server for this game.

Holy shit. Thought this is going to be a dead end; this got me so freaking excited. I'll take a look over the guide later, when I have time, and check the Discord out! Thanks so much!

Don't get too excited. You can only get ~20 minutes into the game before unimplemented server functionality keeps you from progressing. There's a link to a video near the bottom of the guide showing off what is playable. I'll also invite @Convery to join the server if they are still interested in this game; there are a lot more tools and resources for the engine than there were 7 years ago.

Glad that people find the repo useful, but since it was written 7 years ago I barely even remember the game. As for building, the only important part is localnetworking and the server. AYRIA can be replaced by any Steam emulator and the bootstrap module just injects the localnetworking dll. You could probably remove localnetworking altogether if you have a normal HTTP server running locally and editing your hosts file. If I ever find the time needed to complete AYRIA, I'll update the repo with a proper/modern implementation.
