Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

  • Not personally affected by it cause I have common sense, but thinking about a different demographic, perhaps an older one. Let me paint a scenario, as a student, you go out to do work or are at university/work. Your parents who may not be as tech Savy decide to browse facebook or want to search for some recipes, and whilst they scroll they come past a comment section with some link that says, "Hey click this and find my recipe here! (Insert Malicious Link)," and then they go through the whole process of getting scammed. This scenario isn't really clear but you get my point right? Clicking a shady link could lead you to some shady site, and you get a virus that steals all your pictures of Prof. Talal.

Describe the solution you'd like

  • A plug-in that when you hover over a hyperlink shows a precise overview of the link from trusted websites that debunk and check if a site is malicious or not. The whole point of the plug-in is not to completely stop the use from accessing it, but give a warning, i.e., show a redflag in a small box over hovering on the link.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • I haven't heard of anything so far.
