Catastrophic boot issue that results in root account being locked #467

Description

@astra-midnight

I'm running on an M1 Mac mini with 8GB of RAM.

After updating to version Fedora Linux Asahi Remix (6.18.10-402.asahi.fc42.aarch64+16k) 42 (Forty
Two [Adams]) I encounter the message "Cannot open access to console, the root account is locked".

The issue persists with the recently updated Fedora Linux Asahi Remix (6.18.15-400.asahi.fc42.aarch64+16k) 42 (Forty Two [Adams]) kernel as well.

The issue does not exist in the Fedora Linux Asahi Remix (6.17.12-400.asahi.fc42.aarch64+16k) 42 (Forty Two [Adams]) kernel and is what I'm having to stick with to continue to boot for now.

I have attached as many logs as possible to help you diagnose the issue. I'm uncertain of the issue but I believe it may relate to a USB 3 NVMe drive that I have set to mount at boot. It may be something else entirely and I'm not sure so I've attached journal_previous_boot.log, lspci.log, dmesg.log, kernel_version.log and lsusb.log to assist you.
